Two for Two – Bobcats!

After way too long, I finally have some new photos of the female bobcat.  My last post with photos of her was back in early February!  Since seeing her and the male together, many of us had hoped to see kittens sometime this spring.  After that, she was seen far less often but the few sightings I heard about indicated she looked pregnant.  More recently, I heard that she was seen with a couple kittens tagging along.  The reported sightings of her seemed to have no discernible pattern, making it quite difficult to know when to go searching.  So, it seems I got really lucky seeing her not once, but twice this weekend!  Even luckier, we got to see the kittens playing in broad daylight!!  I find it very gratifying that I now have photographic documentation of the the male and female bobcat together and their resulting progeny.

Wow, very cool. It’s much less exotic, but we have various animal families living around the house here: rabbits, raccoons, groundhogs, etc. It’s really fun to watch them appear and mature. Our raccoons are particularly entertaining at the moment.

Congratulations !!! Beautiful work as always. Lucky or just persistent – it’s great to see the kittens. Jeolous might be the best word – those kittens are awesome. Can’t wait to get back and try myself. See you soon.
