Jesusita Fire Day 3

Here are some photos from day three of the Jesusita Fire.  Since I live in Goleta, I focused on the western edge of the fire.  Most of the day was seemingly calm with not too much fire activity.  Although, as expected, the fire activity increased dramatically once the winds picked up.  I was able to get some dramatic shots from Old San Marcos Rd.  As I was about to head to another location, Bo Criss arrived.  He had been shooting from “The Bridge to Nowhere” until they shut down the whole HW 154 area.  I definitely recommend checking out his Flickr collection of photos.

As always, I recommend clicking on the individual photos to see them in higher resolution.

The plume drifting south with Lake Los Carneros in the foreground is an amazing capture. Excellent composition and rich colors make this shot really stand out.

Thanks for the insightful comment. Now that things have calmed down, I’m looking back to see if I have some more fire photos to post today.
