Cooling Off

Taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather on Monday, I went on an early morning walk around Campus Point at UCSB.  There was a lot of bird life at the point.  The Surfbirds were still plentiful and were now joined by Black Turnstones and the occasional Semi-palmated Plover.  Beyond the surf were several groups of Western Grebes.  It would have been nice to see them riding some bigger waves, but I’m thankful they were relatively close to shore.
