On my way back from the Carrizo Plain, I dropped by Shell Creek Road to see how the wildflowers were developing. As previous reports had mentioned the color this year is predominantly yellow, but there are quite a lot of flowers along the roadside. It will be worth another trip back to see if a greater variety appears. Maybe the wet weather this week will prolong the bloom.
